Raiford grew up in South Alabama in a small town called Millry. He spent his years growing up as the quarterback of the Football team and pitcher of the Baseball team. His grandfather started a local telephone company in 1941 and to this day it is still in working order as a family owned and operated business. Raiford is from a long line of cattle farmers. He used to love spending time with his Uncle Red day after day helping him tend to his hundreds of cows. “Uncle Red never had an issue getting cows up”, Raiford says. “All he ever needed was a piece of tin. He would tell me ‘Grab that piece of tin boy and let’s get those cows here in this pen’ and out to the field we would go.” Raiford is a proud alumni of The University of Alabama and is of course a football season ticket holder. ROLL TIDE!!!
Raiford moved to Middle TN in 2002 and has worked in Land Development since arriving to there. In the spring of 2003, Raiford and his family back in AL, purchased Yellow Creek Ranch solely as a mere investment. As Raiford began spending time at the Ranch making various improvements and hunting the 1,700-acres of land, he began to create a connection to this farm. Because of the beauty of the farm Raiford said, “There is just truthfully not another farm in Middle TN that compares to this farm. I have looked at and visited farms all over this part of the country and NOTHING in my eyes is as beautiful as Yellow Creek Ranch.” Raiford tends to keeping all the fence fixed, keeping the fields bushogged, cutting over 600 bails of hay off the Ranch a year, keeps all the cows worked, and a million other things that come along with having a farm! When time permits, Raiford enjoys riding his cutting horse, Black As Cat, who is a son of High Brow Cat. “I don’t show. I leave all that to my wife. I just enjoy owning nice horses.”
Sareece was raised in Franklin, TN and grew up taking hunter jumper riding lessons. “I never was able to have my own horse,” Sareece says. “I can remember crying myself to sleep as a little girl and praying that God would allow me to have my own pony. I could of cared less what it looked like.” Sareece spent most of her summers growing up cleaning stalls for a local horse trainer in exchange for riding lessons. Now, it seems like all of Sareece’s prayers have come true and ten-fold.
Sareece attended and graduated from Western Kentucky University, and had the opportunity to ride on the Equestrian Team while she was there. “I learned so much while I was there. Dr. Charles Anderson taught me so much about basic horsemanship and I truly believe he is the reason why I am the caliber of rider I am today along with the lady that taught me my first riding lesson Jennifer Pigue,” says Sareece.
Sareece is an Affiliate Broker with a local Real Estate Company in Franklin and stays busy with helping many others find their dream home/farm. She is also the contact and organization behind the stallion that they stand at Yellow Creek Ranch, the 2005 NRCHA Open Bridle World Champion, Start Me A Tab. When breeding season comes she is very busy serving clients with the best customer service that she can give them. “I want to have a great relationship with our clients and try to keep up with Tab’s babies. I don’t ever want our operation to get so big that I do not feel that I can still do this.”
In 2009, Sareece rode “Start Me A Tab” to the…
— TOP TEN at the '09 NRCHA World Show in the 5K Non-Pro Limited. Marked a 224 in the cow work for the highest cow score in the Prelims!!
— NRCHA 5K Non-Pro Limited TOP TEN in the Southeast & Northeast Region.
— '09 ARHA Am Ranch Reining Reserve World Champion.
“I feel blessed beyond my wildest dreams. I never thought I would have the opportunity not only ride horses again, but much less even own one. Now I have a barn full of the most amazing and talented horses that I have ever hoped for. I am a true example that God does answer prayers.”
